How To Identify Grub Worms In Your Indiana Lawn

Fall is a great time to get your Indiana lawn back in shape after the long, hot summer. And believe you me, this year has been especially tough on our lawns. We went from unusually heavy rains in July to 90+ degree days with intermittent rain through early August. Now, we are just coming out of a 22 day drought stretch. It’s been crazy.

But there is something in our NW Indiana lawns that is much more serious than any weather conditions and the are just starting to rear their ugly heads: GRUB WORMS! Below is a video I shot just over in Cedar Lake a couple weeks ago. The area that is dead is about 1/4 acre! Whenn I pulled up to the lawn, I knew almost immediately what it was – the flattened turf with it’s ashy-gray appearance is a tell-tale sign. So I decided to whip out my IPhone and start shooting… If you find grub worms in your lawn this fall, you better get them killed quick!

If you are finding grub worms in your lawn right now (fall time) the product below is a very fast-acting solution – just make sure you water it into the lawn. These guys will feed all the way until the first hard frost and they can damage 100 square feet of lawn per DAY !
