Franciscan St. Anthony, YMCA to Host Pediatric Asthma Program

A free program titled – “Pediatric Asthma – Is Your Child at Risk?” – will be offered by Franciscan St. Anthony Health – Crown Point and the YMCA Southlake Branch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 23, at the YMCA, 1450 S. Court St.

An “Ask the Doctor” segment, featuring Marie Wilson-Marshall, MD, a Franciscan St. Anthony staff pediatrician, will take place from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wilson-Marshall, who has 21 years experience in her specialty, will speak about prevention and maintenance of asthma and exercise-induced asthma. She will be on hand until the program’s conclusion to provide further information and to answer questions.

Pulmonary function screenings for asthma, with education on proper use of inhalers and the importance of Peak Flow Meter Monitoring, will be offered throughout the program.
