Crown Point Community Theatre Presents a-2-3-4!
The Crown Point Community Theatre presents “a-2-3-4!,” a fundraiser benefiting the theatre which will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 8 p.m. in Crown Point at the On the Square Sports Academy, located at 105 N. Court Street.
“a-2-3-4!” is CPCT’s latest installment of the Broadway on the Square series. The event will feature a handful of Northwest Indiana’s finest performers and celebrate some of Musical Theatre’s best duets, trios and quartets. The production will be directed by Eric Reithelalong and Amanda Deitrich along with the talents of Colleen Archer, Matt Domasica , Kerry Fitch, Kristen Hasslegren, Jerald Jascoviak, Dan Maxon, John Peluso and Lauren Rynders.
A silent auction will also be held with gift baskets donated from local businesses for event goers to bid on. Appetizers will be served, as well as a chance to win Crown Point Community Theater season tickets.

The Memorial Opera House located in Valparaiso will hold their auditions for “Jekyll & Hyde” on Monday, June 6th and Tuesday, June 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial Opera House, located at 104 Indiana Avenue, in Valparaiso.
Directed by Scot MacDonald with musical direction by Chris Stalbaum and choreography by Amber Mills, the musical deals with a brilliant doctor whose experiments with human personality bring about a murderous counterpart. Convinced the remedy for his father’s mental illness lies in the separation of Man’s good and evil. Dr. Jekyll unintentionally releases his own dark side, ravaging the streets of late 19th-century London as the savage, insane and deranged, Edward Hyde.

Hammond Community Theatre announced it’s cast for the upcoming production of the Sam Bobrick play “Passengers.”
“Passengers” will feature an arrangement of eight short scenes that all take place in a small Midwestern bus station.
“Passengers” is directed by Rip and Bonnie Johnson, the cast includes Kim Bernstein, Joseph P. Bogs, Andrea Creasbaum, Eric McCann, John Sanchez, Kevin Sherman, and John Wotkun.

The Hammond Community Theatre will be holding their open auditions for the comedy, “Death in England,” directed by Don Taylor. Open Casting will be held on Sunday, June 5th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, June 6th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
“Death in England” plays out what happens when Death pays a call to an English household and discovers he’s come to the wrong house. Eventually he comes to realize that people are dying without his assistance. Suspecting treachery of the highest degree, England’s most devious detective, Inspector Edward Mirabelle, is called in to get to the bottom of things.
The cast calls for eight women and men ranging in ages from the mid-thirties to mid-sixties. Open auditions will be held at Beatniks On Conkey, located at 418 Conkey Street, in Hammond. For more information please call (888) 928-6648.
The Crown Point Community Theatre will hold auditions for its production of William Shakespeare’s’ “The Taming of the Shrew” on Monday, June 6th and Tuesday 7th at 7:00 p.m. at Farm Bureau, 2008 N. Main Street in Crown Point.
Directed by Earle and Betty Howe, the production is described as not about beating a woman into submission. This suggests that the production will be a more “politically correct” adaptation that Shakespeare may have written if he had lived in the 21st century.
