3-in-1 Fest, Porter County, Great Music, Games, Clean Family Fun

Looking for some clean family entertainment this summer? Do you enjoy contemporary Christian music live and local? Then you have got to be at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso on Saturday July 31st beginning at 10:30 AM and continuing on until 10PM.

What is 3in1 Fest?

– Music, Food, Games … did I say GOOD music?

According to RG Skadberg of (tbd) Limited who is organizing the event, 3-in-1 Fest is just as it reads: 3 major events being combined into 1 bigger, major event:

“Heading into 2010, this was going to become a 3-day event,” he says, “Before this year, we had 3 distinct aspects:

- Friday – Rock the Hill: a youth oriented concert that was to be a mix of rock, pop and some hip-hop. While most of the artists were from the Christian music genre, it wasn’t exclusive. The plan for Rock the Hill is to provide a place for the youth/young adult set to go with their friends and enjoy live music. This is the introduction of an ongoing series (tbd) plans to host in The Region and other markets on a regular basis to address the problem “there’s nothing for ‘kids’ to do”; providing a safe, fun alternative to just hanging out or potentially getting into trouble.

- Saturday – Joyful Noise is the direct replacement for what was previously Prayz Dayz. It was to be a day-long, family-oriented event with music from Christian touring artists and regional praise bands. Other activities, vendors (food, merchandise) and artist (craft, painters, photographers, etc.) would round out the event

- Sunday – Unity Celebration was going to be a unified celebration of worship open to the community and conducted by a mix of churches.”

But this year in 2010, organizers and participants decided to make all three into one and combine the best of each event.

“This is the 3rd year we are running the festival, but this year, our pared down 3in1 Fest takes elements of Joyful Noise, Rock the Hill and adds a regional band showcase, all happening on July 31st.”

Attend 3-in-1 Fest and enjoy these activities all on July 31, 2010:

-The (tbd) Showcase will kick off the event and give local artists the chance to play in front of music industry professionals who will in turn provide feedback and suggestions to help them advance their careers.

-Joyful Noise will occupy the middle part of the day (noon to 5 or so) featuring praise bands from the region, Cornhole Tourney, food, merchandise, artists and organizations’ displays, as well as other activities.

-Rock the Hill will take place the latter part of the day (5ish to 10:30) and feature a couple more regional groups as well as touring artists.

The event is family friendly and guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets, as well as coolers and food are welcome in the park (no glass bottles, no alcohol). There will be booths set up with vendors selling food and snacks, as well as local artists displaying their crafts.
